Last Day at Bandag

I am leaving the company that I have worked for over the past nine years today. It's an odd feeling to move on when you aren't a job hopper like so many in my generation. I enjoyed my time there and have made some great friends over the years, but it is time for me to leave. The company is not what it was when I came to work for them and has really been mired with internal politics for the last few years. However, to get off the negatives, it has been a wonderful place to work from and I have learned more about business from this company than my Business Management degree ever taught me.

I am moving from a company that seems to be in a mature market with steady potential, to a company that is growing with untapped potential.

Starting Monday, I will be working as the Technology Manager at Impro Group a global company that is head quartered here in Pittsburgh. No more travel for me. I am also working from home the majority of time, so hopefully I won't have to deal with much in the way of office politics. From the appearances, this is T H E job for me at this point in my career. I am going to have to learn ColdFusion and MSSQL, but I am not sure that that will be much of a problem as Xaraya is built on some of the fundementals of CF.

I am extremely nervous, anxious, and excited for the opportunity.
