To Kill a Mockingbird

I just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee this afternoon. I started it in Wichita, KS and read it on both legs of my flight back to Pittsburgh. I have to say of all the classics that I have read in the recent years, this one was certainly the most readible, behind One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It was also the most enjoyable while disturbing to my sensibilities. I find it odd that I had not seen but a few minutes of the movie in the past, and really just purchased the book on a whim. It's amazing how far we have come in less than a hundred years, and in other respects, how little has changed.
