w.bloggar and Xaraya
Xaraya has many possibilities for content management. One of the lesser known pieces of functionality is using blogging clients to post your articles. I find it easier to use desktop tools to publish my articles, as there is all of the fancy functionality (spell checking, WYSIWYG editor, image uploading) that you may not want to set up for the publication type that you are using. w.bloggar is my preference, but there are many other blogging tools that you may want to try.
Getting Started
You will need to install the xmlrpc modules on your Xaraya installation. You will also need to install the bloggerapi module so the blogging client can talk to your Xaraya installation. Once this is done, you will need to go to the bloggerapi configuration and specify the publication type to use. On Wyome, I have set the publication type to use the news articles. Since, I have no default publication type set for my front page article type, I am able to edit any article on my site via w.bloggar. No other configuration is needed within Xaraya, as the rest of the configuration is on the w.bloggar client.
w.bloggar configuration
The first setup that you will want to do is create your account. Note, you can easily have many different Xaraya installations setup on w.bloggar by creating accounts for each of your websites that you wish to maintain:

is the first screen that you will see when setting up your account preference. You will want to set up a new account for your installation.

Is the settings that you will use. w.bloggar at this time does not have a profile for Xaraya, so I just used the PostNuke setting. If you do this, you will just need to change the "page" setting to /ws.php?type="xmlrpc" as this is where the client needs to point to to establish contact with Xaraya.

Is the final setting that you will want to make if you plan on adding images to your articles. This is an FTP setting, which will upload pictures quickly to your server as you are writing an article. It will also insert an image tag. Be careful on the image tag, as w.bloggar does not currently support xhtml and you will need to change the tag for compliant issues.
Limitations
The only limitation with using a blogging client at this time, is that you are limited to a single publication type. If you have not created a default publication type within your articles configuration, then you will have access to each publications that hit your site. As you can see, the setup is very simple while the tools that you are provided are powerful.
